Karl Lagerfeld must be singing Lily Allen songs in the shower coz he’s totally smitten with her. The British singer was chosen as the star of Chanel’s Coco Cocoon Ad Campaign alongside another Karl Lagerfeld favorite, French model Baptiste Giabiconi (who currently reigns supreme snagging the top spot of the model ranks according to models.com). The campaign was shot by Karl Lagerfeld in classic monochrome with Lily wearing pieces from Chanel’s Fall 2009 ready-to-wear collection with the Cocoon bags in hand.

For Fall/Winter 2009-2010, Karl Lagerfeld designed ‘Coco Cocoon’, a new collection of sleek, casual handbags and accessories in washed lambskin or nylon. The Coco Cocoon line reveals turned inside out, the signature Chanel quilted pattern which corresponds to Coco Chanel’s perspective that “true luxury is when something is as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside”.

The collection features a number of pieces from handbags and small leather goods to large travel bags. All pieces are lightweight, really comfortable for use in travel or city escapades from day to night. I quite like some of the bags just because they’re puffy and great for traveling (and could double as a pillow, lol). But some are really chic especially the white totes, bowling bags and the cute little pouches.

Here are the handbags from Chanel’s Coco Cocoon collection. There are four pieces in this line, a large nylon tote, a medium lambskin tote, a small lambskin tote and a lambskin bowling bag. Not all of the pieces are reversible to dark red diamond quilting, but the non-reversible bags has dark red lining similar to that of the original 2.55.

Coco Cocoon Large Nylon Tote

Lightweight, reversible quilted nylon large tote with soft nylon handles. Its reversible from grey horizontal quilting to dark red diamond quilting. It has an interior zipped pocket and ruthenium hardware. Comes in five colors: Grey, Dark Brown, Taupe, Navy and Black.

Measurements: 15.5″ x 18″ x 9″

Coco Cocoon Medium Lambskin Tote

This quilted lambskin medium zipped tote features a puffed horizontal quilting and soft leather handles. It has an interior zipped pocket and ruthenium hardware. Comes in colors: Black, Dark Brown, Taupe, Dark Red, Ivory, Navy and Grey.

Coco Cocoon Small Lambskin Tote

With soft leather handles, this small quilted lambskin tote is reversible from black horizontal quilting to dark red diamond quilting. It has an interior zipped pocket and ruthenium hardware. Comes in colors: Black, Dark Brown, Taupe, Dark Red, Ivory, Grey and Navy.

Coco Cocoon Lambskin Bowling Bag

Like its tote counterpart, this large quilted nylon duffel is lightweight and features a puffed horizontal quilting. It has an adjustable strap, dark nylon lining, an interior zipped pocket and ruthenium hardware pieces. Its available in two colors: Grey and Black.

Nylon Bowling Bag

My favorite piece from the collection, this quilted nylon bowling bag is lightweight and features a diamond quilting design. It has an exterior black strap to fit over trolley handle. The bag features a dark red nylon lining and has a top zip closure, interior and exterior zipped pockets, and Ruthenium hardware. Its available in Brown/Ivory, Red/Black, Black/Red, Grey, Dark Brown, Taupe, and Black.

Lambskin Backpack

Another nice piece is this diamond quilted lambskin backpack. It has soft adjustable straps, a dark red leather lining, flap front with snap closure, interior and exterior zipped pockets and Ruthenium hardware. It comes in colors: Black, Dark Red and Ivory.

Nylon Toiletry Case

A necessity for traveling, this diamond quilted nylon zip-top toiletry case features a zip closure, interior and exterior zipped pockets, a key fob, and Ruthenium hardware. The case comes in a contrasting nylon lining, and is available in Black.

The trolley is available in two versions, a Nylon one which cones in Black/Dark Red colors and a Lambskin one in Black Dark Red, and Black/Black colors.

I’m back! Its been quite some time since I’ve last written something. It’s because of the construction that’s happening here in the house. Our floor is being redone and finding a nice spot to sit ‘normally’ (without cutting circulation off my legs) is quite a challenge, but everything’s done now and I have settled back in my corner… back to work!

Louis Vuitton Monogram Stresa PM

Now onto the bag. You may remember this one from the photos I’ve posted months ago, from Vuitton’s Cruise 2010 presentation in New York. The bag was presented in Damier Azur canvas, but that version would be hitting the shelves months from now. You can, however, get the Stresa as early as now… in Monogram Canvas.

Named after a town on the shores of Lake Maggiore in Italy – a popular retreat for the elite – the Stresa has the town’s calmness and timelessness in terms of the design. It’s an elegant bag with an angular shape  and offers a comfortable carrying experience even when full. Effortless chic I say.
