Coach Poppy Rhinestone XL Shoulder Bag
There are lots of new arrivals at Coach! Quite a few have caught my eye, so I will begin with the Poppy Rhinestone XL Shoulder Bag. I am a sucker for anything that sparkles, so I can’t help but love the rhinestones in spring colors. It features plenty of pockets both inside and outside the bag, along with detachable shoulder bag, fabric lining and zip-top closure. Price: $548 at Coach.
Plan Early for a Fashion Career
Many of you are just like me and have loved fashion from an early age. Even though I was a poor kid, I still loved to look at magazines and dress up my dollies when I was playing. Now that I am more matured, (maybe!) I realize that the sooner you start to think about a career in fashion the better chance you will have of making your dreams come true.
One thing you can do at any age is study the industry. You don’t have to own a computer to do this girls. Remember books? They are available for free in your local library and the history of fashion is well documented. Beyond books the library is full of magazine subscriptions to the major fashion rags. Should you have a computer at your disposal the sites that follow fashion are in the thousands. Find one that appeals to you and visit it often but remember to read the news not just look at the hot new looks. One day you will want to know the leaders in the fashion industry in the direction you want to go be it modeling, design or marketing.
When you are ready to make your future come true there are modeling schools you can attend. Don’t go with one of those that want you to pay for modeling lessons. When you have the right stuff to be a model the agencies will want you not your money so be cautious. Design schools are available in most major metropolitan areas and many offer scholarships for good students.
My advice is don’t just dream. Make a plan and set goals for yourself because not everyone who is successful in the fashion world got noticed when she was a gorgeous, long legged teenager. You got to make your own noise!

“In a welter of security checks and scares, it is hard to see romance in today’s travel, but the LV designer Paul Helbers used his Wiener Werkstätte theme to give depth to the show — and a modern touch when the German artist Christian Schoeler painted three bags as a tribute to art students and their customized bags.” – IHT

Hey, I like your dress.
I’ve been sipping roasted twig tea and browsing the net, and in true gamine style, I love the dresses I’ve found here on gamine.co.kr.
However, I realise that my body type is more curvy, so I’d probably look better in one of these sexier dresses from modcloth.com

Louis Vuitton Core Values 2010 Ad Campaign

“The journey of a star, captured in a flash.”
Miles Socha of WWD reports: “Louis Vuitton turned the tables on Annie Leibovitz, photographer of its “core values” ad campaigns, and asked her to appear in its next spots, which will break in daily newspapers, magazines and online starting Feb. 1. She hesitated at first, but ultimately accepted — on the condition she use the fee to hire someone famous to pose with her. That flew in the face of Vuitton communication director Antoine Arnault’s intention: He had proposed the self-portrait project to Leibovitz as a gesture of support, given her widely publicized financial problems. “She’s a real, pure, 100 percent artist,” enthused Arnault, who insisted on ponying up for her chosen co-star, ballet legend Mikhail Baryshnikov. “We’ve always been very committed to her, to her talent.” Taken in Leibovitz’s New York studio, the photo depicts the dancer barefoot on a podium, and the photographer eying her subject, her own three-year-old monogram Neverfull bag next to her and stuffed with books. The tag line reads: “The journey of a star, captured in a flash.” Arnault said the image exemplifies the “moment of quiet and calm” Leibovitz achieves with her sitters. “She just gets in their souls,” he said. “This campaign has really become almost a saga.”

Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2010 Menswear Collection

“Kafka and Schiele favored very tailored, waisted clothes with short jackets and long coats,” says Helbers. “This collection is built on layering, but it is a precise interlocking. Each piece belongs to the whole and you can add or subtract to be more casual or representational. Fabrics are bonded to do without linings and coats unzip at the yoke to layer under other pieces. This suits travel and that is always a focus at Louis Vuitton, but also today’s laptop workplace which has blurred the boundaries between tailoring and casual pieces.”

The artistic life and architecture of Vienna inspire a palette of graphite, brown, raven blue, clay, forest, stone, praline, horn and nude accented by neon green.
The waist is underlined in mixed blacks for double-faced wool jackets with waterproof leather insets. The 3/4 coat is revisited in shearling and cashmere knit with silk satin sleeves. Collars contain slip-out hoods that unfold from the middle so that the leather and zip detailing remains a constructivist design element. Leather is waterproofed and constructed with taped seams for the high performance Techno Anorak, or sprayed rather than dyed so that cubist seaming stands out with a contrasting white edge. Waterproof, brushed and twisted tweeds have a snowy or paint-splattered look and give a sense of volume in very light weights. Luxury is inherent in cashmere blended with chinchilla, or mink, for jackets that are soft, and slightly hairy with a padded look. Shirts are tapered, or loose in a play of stripes: mismatched, geometric or in complex engineered prints. As a tribute to the prestigious equestrian Ecole Espagnole de Vienne, soft double-breasted blazer complement straight leg pants accessorized with zipped riding boots.

Vienna artistic life and equestrian tradition also inspire a new Louis Vuitton rich and extra soft premium calfskin. The leather is fully nourished by craftsmen with oils and natural wax to allow the bags to embellish with age. Either constructed entirely of leather or paired with a water-resistant taupe or charcoal canvas, the bags are inspired by military and utilitary vintage styles with a contemporary twist. The tote is the primary source of inspiration this season with leather handles and hardware from the iconic Louis Vuitton Steamer bag. German painter Christian Schoeler has hand painted three bags with landscapes, forests and clouds, an ode to Viennese art students who roam the streets with their customized bags.

Accessories for the “Bleisure” lifestyle combine a certain rusticity with techno details and elegant design. Army boot clogs are strapped, layered and studded while sleek patent laceups feature a new metallic wedge sole. Tangled leaves and painterly brush strokes are a romantic touch on devoré velvet scarves, and ties are structured in mock moiré or striped in bias welt weaves, or wet look metallics. Eyewear combines spectacle styling with state of the art construction with narrow branches to twist around the ear and clear plastic resin over the bridge.
Viennese artist Blinky Palermo whose work in the 60s centered on architectural illusions inspired the multiple wall set. And the soundtrack mixes techno, waltz, and opera from Holger Hiller to Elizabeth Schwarzkopf and Simple Minds with citations from Kafka.
