Monogram Vernis + Leopard = ?

Monogram Vernis Leopard Monogram Vernis + Leopard = ?

In my previous post about the new colors of the ever popular Leopard Stole, I mentioned that there’s a reason why they match those of the Monogram Vernis. Well, the reason is simple. They combine.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if the glossy Monogram Vernis combines with the wild Leopard print by Stephen Sprouse? The result would be undoubtedly fabulous! Introducing the Monogram Vernis Leopard! It’s the same sophisticated Monogram Vernis patent leather we love, but with a kick of Leopard print!

Monogram Vernis Leopard will be available in small leather goods like the Zippy Wallet, Zippy Coin Purse, and Heart Coin Purse, and some shoes. They’re expected to be released January next year in three colors: Bleu Infinite, Blanc Corail, and Rouge Fauviste.

But if you’re not into Vernis and would love to have Leopard print SLGs, then there’s the classic Monogram Canvas wallets that will have Leopard print in its interior lining! More on that soon.

What do you think of the new Monogram Vernis Leopard?

Louis Vuitton Monogram Empreinte Portefeuille Secrète

Monogram Empreinte Secrete Louis Vuitton Monogram Empreinte Portefeuille Secrète

I’ve been in search for the perfect wallet for quite some time now as I really need to replace the one I’m currently using which is about to implode any moment. The wallet I want is something that is spacious, has lots of compartments, can carry bills and coins, and can accommodate my iPhone.

Flashback 3 weeks ago, the lovely staff of Louis Vuitton Greenbelt 5 gave me a tour of their store. There I found it… the Monogram Empreinte Portefeuille Secrète Long. Since then, I’ve been obsessing over it. And seeing it again last Thursday at Louis Vuitton’s Diwali Event just made me want it even more! Santa, I have been so good this year! I want the Monogram Empreinte Secrète Long in Infini for Christmas!

Monogram Empreinte Portefeuille Secrète Long and Compact are real statement pieces. Crafted from the exquisitely supple Monogram Empreinte leather, these wallets are made with form and function in mind. The wallets are understated yet elegant, they’re beautifully made, very functional, and the price is very appealing considering that they’re completely made out of leather. The wallets features golden brass zipped closure with leather tabs on the golden brass zipper pull. Secrète Long offers 10 credit card slots, 2 compartments for notes and receipts, and a zipped coin compartment while the Secrète Compact has 3 credit card slots, 1 zipped coin compartment and a large compartment for notes. Also, the iPhone 4 fits perfectly in both Long and Compact!

Monogram Empreinte Portefeuille Secrète comes in two sizes: Long (7.7″ x 4.1″) and Compact (5.5″ x 3.9″). Both sizes comes in 5 colors: Infini, Flamme, Neige, Orage, and Ombre. They’re available at Louis Vuitton stores for US$780 and US$660 for Long and Compact respectively.

Limited Edition Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Fuchsia Graffiti Speedy 30

Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Fuchsia Graffiti Speedy 30Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Fuchsia Graffiti Speedy 30

Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Fuchsia Graffiti Speedy 30

You won’t believe what I discovered over at Jill’s Consignment!  An authentic, Limited Edition Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Graffiti Speedy 30 that is in pristine condition.  I still remember how excited I was when the collection first came out, paying homage to great American artist Stephen Sprouse.  Sprouse was credited with pioneering the 1980s mix of “uptown sophistication in clothing with a downtown punk and pop sensibility”, and collaborated with Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton in 2001 to design graffiti-printed fashion.

The bag is described as following -

Monogram canvas with fuschia graffiti. Cowhide rolled leather handles and trim and golden brass hardware. Zip-top. Padlock and two keys. Brown canvas lining with patch pocket. Date code: TH5018. Made in France. 11.8″ x 8.3″ x 6.7″. Excellent condition with dust cover. Leather is still nice and light including the handles. Just pristine! Interior is immaculate.

Price: $1,395 at Jill’s Consignment.

Louis Vuitton x Scott Campbell Spring/Summer 2011 Menswear Collaboration – Paris

Louis Vuitton presents the second part of its digital video trip dedicated to the Men’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection. In the last video, we had left the artist and tattooist, Scott Campbell, on the verge of a new travel to a mysterious destination. After visiting his own town, New York, we are now following Scott in the discovery of the Louis Vuitton universe in Paris, in the Maison de Famille in Asnières and the Atelier. Scott Campbell is going to this iconic place to work on a very special project which we will discover very soon…

About Scott Campbell

Louisiana-born Scott Campbell is famous for having some of the most talented hands in the world of tattoo. After abandoning a career as a biochemist at the University of Texas, he moved to San Francisco in pursuit of inspiration. After his first semi-successful attempts tattooing teenagers, he joined Picture Machine, one of the oldest shops in California.

Since then heʼs travelled the world, tattooing people all across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and eventually settled in New York. Scott now owns and operates the legendary Saved Tattoo in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. A studio which has linked New Yorkʼs art and design elite, fashion designers such as Marc Jacobs, and a long roster of celebrities.

In recent years, Campbell has gained much acclaim from fine art communities worldwide for his work mediums other than skin, including intricately carved sculptures made out of stacks of real US currency, a series of watercolor paintings based on his experiences in tattooing inmates in a maximum security prison in Mexico City, and incredibly intricate graphite drawings done on the insides of eggshells. Campbell has only shown in galleries for a few years, but his work has already seen in some of the most revered collections and museums worldwide. He is celebrated as on the other brightest new voices in the New York art scene.

Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring/Summer 2011 Pre-Collection

01 Louis Vuitton Mens Spring/Summer 2011 Pre Collection

Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2011 Menswear Pre-Collection can be thought of as a well edited wardrobe made for travel concentrating on essentials from the packable overcoat to the ultimate parka, easy rugby top and perfect cashmere sweater. Pieces from the collection are lightweight, crease free, designed to layer and detailed. Although the season’s military influence is evident, the overall feeling is quite preppy. These are throw-it-on pieces for a silhouette, which combines both dressy and casual elements.

The shoulder is straight, the two-button jackets with a slightly raised waist and trim are complemented by flat front trousers. Fabrics are refined: 150′s lightweight wool and cotton/silks and linens, both lined and half-lined. Details are subtle: jackets have hard-striched outside collars and front pockets, and four actual buttonhole sleeves with a final Louis Vuitton engraved button.

Iconic casual pieces like the LV varsity jacket, multi-pocketed hunting jacket and clean and simple parka are styled with one-accent color detailing for a tone-on-tone effect enhanced by contrast trim like nylon and leather on cotton. Military-inspired details: web strap collars and pockets, packable hoods and parachute styling, Damier check pieces combining form and function.

Multi-layering sets for this collection, and it’s always precise. A linen two-button blazer over a rolled-cuff ecru jean, pullover, and tieless shirt for example, or a thin, shirt-styled leather ¾ over a cropped Damier check blouson, simple T-shirt and rolled-cuff pant.

The rich color palette includes a sea of blues worn in tone-on-tone combinations, Khaki with clay, sulphur yellow and chocolate accents for a neutral melange, stand-out reds and a dark group from indigo to steel and anthracite.

In addition to the subtlety of the shades, variations around the iconic Monogram pattern enriches the collection with a range of fresh prints such as the Monogram Star in solids and patchwork prints for shrits and t-shirts, Monogram Cravate and Monogram flowers for sport shirts.

New Theme: Toolbox

Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need roads.”

Dr. Emmett Brown

The streets of the future probably won’t be filled with flying cars and hover boards but the Web will be filled with more semantic content thanks to new markup elements introduced in HTML5. Today’s new theme will let you take advantage of that future right now, right here, on WordPress.com. It’s called Toolbox.

Much like the Sandbox theme, Toolbox provides all the markup you need to build your very own theme with CSS alone–with one difference. Toolbox uses some really exciting new HTML5 elements–like <article>, <header>, and <nav>–that better describe what your content is all about.

What can you do with it? Anything you want. :) Since HTML and CSS go together like peanut butter and jelly we’ve put together a small demonstration. Clicking the image below will take you to a demo site where you can see—and download!—some really cool Custom CSS working in concert with the Toolbox markup.

The Toolbox Theme markup together with Custom CSS

If you need some more inspiration, take a look at a small sample of the infinite themes styles available with Custom CSS. All you need to get started is the Custom CSS upgrade and some experience with CSS.

If you’re building a WordPress theme for a self-hosted site, you can use Toolbox too! It’s available right now in the WordPress Themes Directory.
