First Look: Louis Vuitton Antheia Ixia

Here’s your first look at the Ixia, an upcoming bag that is part of the Antheia Collection. Just like its predecessor, the Hobo, Ixia is crafted from luxurious soft lambskin leather that is delicately embroidered with a stunning pattern of Monogram flowers. The amount of detail put into this bag is just unbelievable!
Ixia will come in three sizes, PM (13.8″ x 11″), MM (15″ x 12.6″) and GM (18.1 x 15.4″) and will be available in these colors: PM (Black, Gray, Anthracite, Cerise), MM (Black, Gray, Fumee, Cerise) and GM (Black, Gray). Prices are as follows: US$2950, US$3060, and US$3480 for the PM, MM, and GM respectively. Ixia will be available at Louis Vuitton stores starting March 2011.
What do you think of the Ixia?

THE MOVIE WAS VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE BOOK IN THAT THERE WAS NOTHING FROM THE BOOK IN THE MOVIE
Today I’m reviewing Lancome’s hero serum, which is called Genifique. Basically, it’s supposed to give you younger looking skin. How? By supplying your skin with some patented protein formula. Apparently, it makes your skin replicate proteins it made when it was younger, therefore making your skin look younger.
First I’ll say that it seems to work. Your skin looks smoother, softer, plumper and younger after using the serum. I’d say I saw results in around 2 weeks.
HOWEVER, it’s really expensive and, correct me if I’m wrong but… I don’t think the bottle was full. It’s hard to say because the packaging is completely opaque, and the bottle is made of glass which is weighted on the bottom to make it seem heavier. Also, the serum is dispensed using a sort of dropper that’s attached inside the cap, so you don’t really have a good idea of how much product is in there….
But I swear, the bottle was only half to 3/4 full.
WE’RE NOT STUPID LANCOME! I don’t think I’ll repurchase, even though it works, because I’ve used other creams/serums that work just as well, where my money is going into my face instead of some spokesmodel’s pocket (DHC, take me back I’m sorry). Anyways, 3.5 checks because the serum does get some results.
[Today's title is a quote from Bret Easton Ellis' new novel, Imperial Bedrooms. I'm only on page 17 and already there's been a movie premiere, the brutal murder of a heroin addict, a trip from NYC to LA, and several vacuous entertainment industry parties. It's good to have you back, Bret.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Stars Stole and Beach Towel

I’m not really that much of a scarf person, but this one sure makes me consider wearing one. It’s the Louis Vuitton Monogram Stars Stole, inspired by the vintage all-American spirit. The stole is made from linen/silk blend and features a striking pattern of stars on one side and the Monogram pattern on the other over a background of patchwork colors.
This super soft and lightweight stole measures 84″ x 28″ and comes in two colors Turquoise and Rouge. Both colors are available at Louis vuitton stores for £325 or approx. US$520 on today’s exchange rate.
★ American soccer player Carlos Bocanegra wore the Monogram Stars Stole in Turquoise at the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2011-2012 Show at Paris last Thursday! Check it out!
Also, Monogram Stars come in Beach Towels. They’re very Americana with their rich colors, and graphic stars and stripes. Monogram Stars Beach Towel is made from 100% Cotton and measures 60″ x 36″. It comes in four colors (as shown below), Marine, Marron, Turquoise, and Rouge. Available at Louis Vuitton stores for £335 or approx. US$540.
★ Speaking of Monogram Stars, I made a few wallpapers for the iPhone which I will be giving away soon! Watch out for that!

DON’T STOP TILL YOU GET ENOUGH
I reckon if I ever tried out for American Idol (or X-factor if you’re in the UK), I’d sing “I Wanna Be Where You Are” by the Jackson 5. It’s the perfect audition song because:
- It reminds you of adorable little MJ, so everyone feels warm and fuzzy.
- It requires musicality – it’s got some difficult intervals so you can show off.
- His signature style wasn’t so formed then, so you can put your own spin on it and make it yours.
- Love those throwback dance moves.
Now… could I pull off the 60s fringed leather jacket while belting a classic Jackson 5? Would it be a special moment? I don’t mind telling you, I’d like to find out….

NB: I don’t intend to ever audition for either X-Factor or American Idol.

Want to blog better in 2011? We’re here to help.
For those of you who want to take your blog to the next level in 2011 (perhaps you’ve stepped up to the Post a Day or Post a Week challenge), we’ve got your back.
From now on, we’ll be offering tips on blogging best practices to help you produce high-quality content, boost your readership, and make the most of all the fabulous WordPress.com features.
Here’s a handful of resources to get you started:
Need an idea?
Check out The Daily Post for a daily dose of writing tips and encouragement, or browse the Freshly Pressed posts or tag pages for inspiration. You can also combat writer’s block by tackling a thought-provoking Plinky prompt.
Keep in mind that the some of the best blogs are focused on one main subject and often target a specific audience. If you feel like you’re losing your focus, think about the reason why you started blogging in the first place, and how you define blogging success. Still feeling lost? Give these brainstorming exercises a shot.
Think you don’t have time to post?
Sure you do — WordPress.com users publish about half a million new posts every day. If so many others can find time, you can, too!
If you’re in a pinch, keep it simple with QuickPress. If you’re on the go, use WordPress.com on your mobile phone or create a post by email. You can even phone in an audio post! Writing posts in advance and setting them to automatically publish in the future is also a great idea for times when you’re going to be busy.
Want more visitors?
As long as you’re enjoying your blog, you’re successful. But if you want to draw a larger audience and interact more with other bloggers, there are plenty of ways to do so. Here’s one suggestion to get you started.
Consider this: You probably search the web for information frequently, and you’re able to find what you need pretty quickly (most of the time), right? That’s because you don’t carefully peruse all the information on a given topic, you rapidly scan page titles and headlines for specific keywords and phrases. Even when you’re leisurely browsing the web with no specific destination in mind, you use page titles to quickly determine whether or not a link is worth clicking.
Your blog post titles show up in a variety of places on the web and in the WordPress.com community. So if you want to boost traffic to your site, take the time to write descriptive, captivating headlines for your posts. For example, a post titled “Summer Vacation 2010″ might be descriptive enough for you and your friends, but “Beaches, Bungee Jumping, and Backpacking: My Adventures in Costa Rica” has a much better chance of attracting new visitors.
Check out Are You Writing Rockin’ Blog Post Titles? for tips on how to write better headlines.
Make 2011 your best blogging year ever!
Remember that you’re a part of a huge community of people who are passionate about blogging. We hope you’ll utilize comments and likes to offer feedback, support, and encouragement to one another as you work toward your blogging goals for 2011.

Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2011/2012 Menswear Collection – Details

Here are some detail and backstage shots from Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2011/2012 Menswear show at Paris yesterday.
The show featured an array of gorgeous ‘man bags’. Prominently, the new Damier Infini, made from beautiful and soft calf leather textured in the signature Damier check pattern.
In addition to this new leather statement, brief cases and small satchels adorned with trunk locks, reproduced from vintage Louis Vuitton models, are coming in elephant print leather and in classic Nomade soft leather, Monogram canvas or patent alligator.
Accessories, like faceless watches, rose-cut cluster rings, side pleated gloves and thick matte black sunglasses associate plain simplicity with a mysterious Lynchian quality, while thick knit scarves, replace ties for a rustic Amish look.
And reversed luxury defines footwear in inside out and patched material combinations which put alligator on the inside, patent leather on the heel and leaves edging uncut for a thick sole and a rough feel.

Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2011 Men’s Ad Campaign

Louis Vuitton’s ad campaign for their Spring/Summer 2011 collection is out. It stars Taiwanese model/actor Godfrey Gao and ex-Ralph Lauren muse Doug Pickett, photographed by Cédric Buchet. The campaign also features bags from the Spring/Summer 2011 Menswear Collection: Monogram Impression Sac Weekend, Utah Cabas Zippe (both from the show collection), and Damier Graphite Elvis.
I love the tropical summery vibe and freshness of these images. But I kind of wish Scott Campbell’s tatoo pieces (i.e. bag, scarf and ready-to-wear) were also featured. Nonetheless, it’s a great campaign!
